(KINGSTON, RI – October 2, 2009) –Triple threat Jim Gaffigan, achieving milestones in writing, stand-up, and acting, kicks off the University of Rhode Island's Homecoming Weekend at The Ryan Center on October 15 at 8pm. The Ryan Center, in Kingston, RI, will be the second stop on his 16-date Fall 2009 tour.
At the end of 2008, Gaffigan finished his most recent Comedy Central Live Tour, entitled “Jim Gaffigan: The Sexy Tour.” The tour included 50 sold-out shows across 25 cities, wrapping up at the Paramount Theatre in Austin, TX where he filmed his 2009 Comedy Central special, “King Baby.” The CD and DVD are currently available and listed as top sellers on such retailers as iTunes and Amazon. Gaffigan can most currently been seen on TBS's hit comedy, “My Boys.”
Gaffigan is well-known for his routines related to being lazy and eating food, including his infamous “Hot Pockets” skit. He most recently began production of the 2011 release “Going the Distance” with actors Drew Barrymore and Justin Long.
